Junior Engineer (Incoming Quality)
Location:Pune, Maharashtra, India
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, conduct, and monitor incoming product quality inspections to ensure adherence to customer specifications
- Approve incoming parts based on required specifications and conduct necessary tests
- Document inspection results and investigate non-conformance issues
- Develop and monitor corrective and preventive actions
- Drive quality initiatives and establish processes to meet customer expectations
- Collect and compile statistical quality data
- Document internal audits and quality assurance activities
- Identify and rectify areas of obstruction or breakdowns in processes
- Assist in investigating process-related quality issues
- Track and control rejections and maintain compliance with organizational requirements
- Participate in process improvement activities such as Kaizen and suggestion programs
- Conduct calibration activities for measuring and testing instruments
- Manage material review board (MRB) and return to vendor (RTV) processes
- Participate in High Performance Team (HPT) discussions and provide insights on quality issues and resolutions
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and support business goals
- Provide leadership to quality inspectors and mentor them for skill enhancement
- Own quality metrics for the product line and work closely with other teams for digitization and lean initiatives
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience in Quality Function, especially in incoming inspection parts
- Willingness to work in shifts
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Highly energetic and passionate with a positive attitude
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong experience in Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and quality tool management
- Hands-on experience in new parts development, qualification, and controlling
- Collaboration skills with sourcing, material, and production teams for problem-solving
- Conflict management and effective collaboration abilities
